Refuse collection in Prior Lake may take place 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.  Refuse collection is not permitted on Sundays except in commercial districts, or in other zoning districts with prior written consent of the city manager. On pickup day, garbage and recycling containers should always be placed in driveways or behind the back of the curb to allow city and postal vehicles full use of the road right-of-way.  The following refuse haulers serve Prior Lake:

Organics Recycling

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) operates an organics recycling facility located at 1905 Mystic Lake Dr S.  The cost is generally $15 per load for items such as grass clippings, leaves, brush, logs, sod, dirt and many other types of organic material.  Hours vary by season.  Please visit their website at www.smscorf.com or call 952-233-9191 for more information.

Hazardous Waste Disposal

The City does not have a household hazardous waste disposal site. The Scott County Household Hazardous Waste Facility accepts items such as paint and stain, pesticides, automotive chemicals, household cleaning chemicals, fluorescent lamps and tubes, electronics, appliances, tires, batteries, and more.  The facility is located at 588 Country Trail East in Jordan, MN.  Call 952-496-8787 or visit their website for more information about hours and fees.
