A variety of Prescriptions sitting on a shelf

WHAT is Take It To The Box?

  • The Take It To The Box program promotes the safe use, safe storage, and safe disposal of unneeded prescription medication, over-the-counter medication, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and pet medications.
  • All disposal is done ANONYMOUSLY
  • The Scott County community and the Prior Lake Police Department is serious about preventing medication misuse/abuse and about environmentally safe disposal of unneeded medications.

WHY is it important?

  • A growing concern is the abuse, by youth and others, of medications not prescribed to them. Safe disposal makes these medications less available.
  • Evidence is increasing of the damage to the environment due to the unsafe disposal of medications. Proper disposal helps protect our soil and water.

WHERE is the disposal box located?

  • Our box is located within the front entrance vestibule at the Prior Lake Police Department

 WHAT do I do?
